Healthier Sesame Cookies

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated white sugar or dry sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 regular egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Sesame seeds to coat


  1. First, toast the sesame seeds by putting them on low heat and stir until golden brown. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sweetener, salt, vanilla and sesame seeds.
  3. Add the egg and oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Take about 1 tbsp of dough, place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Flatten a bit then sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Push them a bit so they stick. Repeat until no dough remains.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 mins or until golden brown on top and enjoy!
