Everyone loves brownies. Everyone wants to eat brownies everyday (at least me). Everyone wants healthy brownies. I have the fudgiest healthy brownies recipe for you! The thing with this recipe is that you cut down on saturated fats (found in butter) and use good fats found in avocados. Simple science! And no you don’t taste the avocados (in case you were wondering). You only taste the chocolaty goodness! What do you want more?
Healthy Avocado Brownies
- 1 large avocado
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
- 1/4 cup coconut oil softened, or vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup sugar or dry sweetener of choice
- 1 tbsp chia seeds optional
Preheat oven to 180°C and line a 20×20 cm square pan with parchment paper. (I only had a rectangular pan but that’s okay).
In a mixing bowl, cut the avocado and mash it with a fork. Add all other ingredients except the baking soda and mix well by hand or using an electric mixer until a smooth batter forms.
Add the baking soda and mix again.
Pour the thick batter into the pan and spread evenly using a spoon.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 mins or until done in the center.
Take it out and let cool before cutting.
