Servings: 9 bars
Ingredients
Tahini Bars
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
Chocolate Ganache Layer
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Tahini Bars
- In a medium bowl, mix the tahini, honey, vanilla and salt until smooth. Set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, toast the rolled oats until a bit brown and smell toasty (5-7 mins while stirring from time to time). Place the oats over the tahini-honey mixture.
- In the same saucepan, toast the sesame seeds until brown and toasty (2-3 mins while stirring). Place the toasted sesame seeds over the oats-tahini mixture and mix everything with a spoon until incorporated.
- Line a square pan or tupperware (15×15 cm) with parchment paper. Place the oats-tahini mixture in and smooth it evenly. Refrigerate while you make the ganache.
Chocolate Ganache Layer
- Mix all ganache ingredients in a bowl until smooth. If it’s crumbly, add a bit more water until it’s smooth.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the tahini bars and spread it evenly. You can leave it as it is or you can decorate with some tahini dots swirled all over with a toothpick like I did. Refrigerate the whole thing for at least 1 hour.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
