Baked Donuts (No Yeast)

Ingredients

Donuts

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar or dry sweetener of choice
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature

Chocolate glaze

  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Sugar glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk of choice
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Donuts

  • First,mix the milk with white vinegar or lemon juice and set aside for the milk to curdle (about 5 mins).
  • Preheat your oven to 180℃ and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • Add the curdled milk, oil and eggs and mix everything until a smooth dough forms. Dough should not be sticky so add more flour if needed. 
  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and use your palms to press the dough into desired thickness. Using a cookie cutter, cut the donuts then cut in the center with a smaller cutter. Gather the remaining dough and repeat the process until no dough remains.
  • Transfer the donuts to your baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 mins or until golden brown. Remove and let cool completely before glazing.

Chocolate glaze

  • Mix all glaze ingredients together until smooth. Dip the cooled donuts and decorate with sprinkles or shaved chocolate.

Sugar glaze

  • Mix all glaze ingredients together until smooth. Start with 2 tbsp milk and add more if needed. Dip the cooled donuts and decorate with sprinkles or shaved chocolate.
