Ingredients
Donuts
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar or dry sweetener of choice
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup milk of choice
- 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
Chocolate glaze
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 3 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Sugar glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tbsp milk of choice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Donuts
- First,mix the milk with white vinegar or lemon juice and set aside for the milk to curdle (about 5 mins).
- Preheat your oven to 180℃ and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
- Add the curdled milk, oil and eggs and mix everything until a smooth dough forms. Dough should not be sticky so add more flour if needed.
- Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and use your palms to press the dough into desired thickness. Using a cookie cutter, cut the donuts then cut in the center with a smaller cutter. Gather the remaining dough and repeat the process until no dough remains.
- Transfer the donuts to your baking tray and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 mins or until golden brown. Remove and let cool completely before glazing.
Chocolate glaze
- Mix all glaze ingredients together until smooth. Dip the cooled donuts and decorate with sprinkles or shaved chocolate.
Sugar glaze
- Mix all glaze ingredients together until smooth. Start with 2 tbsp milk and add more if needed. Dip the cooled donuts and decorate with sprinkles or shaved chocolate.
