Hello everyone! I think Pistachio Butter is the world’s underrated nut butter! I made my own Homemade Pistachio Butter and I really can’t get over how good it is. Pistachios are my second favorite nuts (after cashews, so expect a cashew butter soon) and I wanted to honor them by making this healthy sugar free homemade pistachio butter!
Nut butters are super easy to make and sometimes you only need 1 ingredient: nuts. You blend them in your food processor until they release all their oil and become a paste aka butter here.
Also, I made peanut and almond butter before (recipes are on my Instagram : @ghinasbakings) and this one is as easy! I toasted the pistachios to bring out the flavor, blended them then added a bit of honey for some sweetness and a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor! I enjoy mine with bananas, berries, chocolate… anything really!
Homemade Pistachio Butter
- 3 cups raw pistachios
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp salt
First, toast your pistachios by putting them in a pan on medium heat until they smell toasty. You can toast them in the oven too, on 170℃ for 7-8 mins while stirring half through.
Blend them in your food processor until pistachios release all their oil and become a paste. Stop your food processor and scrape down the edges when needed (it takes about 8-10 mins).
Add the honey and salt, pulse until incorporated.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge
