No Bake Chocolate Tahini Bars

Hello everyone! So I experimented with a No Bake Chocolate Tahini Bars recipe and I’m in love with the result! These bars taste exactly like “semesmiye” a kind of lebanese bar made with sesame seeds and some sweetener, but these are made with all natural ingredients and are refined sugar free! I still surprise myself everytime I make someting sweet with Tahini and this recipe is a proof!

Let’s brake it down a bit, these no bake chocolate tahini bars have a crunchy base made with rolled oats, sesame seeds, tahini and honey. I toasted the oats and sesame seeds to bring out the flavor more and I advise you to do the same! Flavor is much much better when they are toasted.

The chocolate layer on top is my favorite ganache recipe so far that I used in my Ultimate No Bake Brownies that you guys loved! So creamy and delicious. I swirled some tahini on top too just to make it look fancy and well executed but this step is totally optional.

Ingredients

Tahini Bars

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Chocolate Ganache Layer

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil melted
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Tahini Bars

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the tahini, honey, vanilla and salt until smooth. Set aside.

  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, toast the rolled oats until a bit brown and smell toasty (5-7 mins while stirring from time to time). Place the oats over the tahini-honey mixture.

  3. In the same saucepan, toast the sesame seeds until brown and toasty (2-3 mins while stirring). Place the toasted sesame seeds over the oats-tahini mixture and mix everything with a spoon until incorporated.

  4. Line a square pan or tupperware (15x15 cm) with parchment paper. Place the oats-tahini mixture in and smooth it evenly. Refrigerate while you make the ganache.

Chocolate Ganache Layer

  1. Mix all ganache ingredients in a bowl until smooth. If it's crumbly, add a bit more water until it's smooth.

  2. Pour the chocolate ganache over the tahini bars and spread it evenly. You can leave it as it is or you can decorate with some tahini dots swirled all over with a toothpick like I did. Refrigerate the whole thing for at least 1 hour.

  3. Cut into bars and enjoy!
