Overnight Oats with Homemade Cherry Jam

Hello everyone! 2 days ago I published my healthy homemade cherry jam and promised some recipes using it. The first one is this overnight oats with homemade cherry jam that match perfectly together! This recipe is suitable for breakfast on the go or for Sohour now in Ramadan. You prepare the oats the night before and just put everything together the next day with less then 5 minutes! I used quick oats and water in this recipe with some spices to taste but feel free to use milk or any liquid base you want with any flavor you like! I made mine with some vanilla, cinnamon and turmeric but feel free to substitute any of them with whatever you like! If you like your oatmeal to be on the warm side, just heat it a bit in the microwave and enjoy!

I don’t know about you but I really can’t get enough of the different combinations that we can make in a very little time. I mean few years back, I would literally eat labneh and toasts everyday for breakfast because I was on a diet and eventually get bored and stop the whole “diet”. But then I realized that it really doesn’t have to be that way, I can make a different breakfast everyday and still enjoy my healthy lifestyle. The best part? It doesn’t take much time to do so!

Overnight Oats with Homemade Cherry Jam

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar or dry sweetener of choice
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 4 tbsp homemade cherry jam
  • 1 tsp peanut butter to garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix everything except the cherry jam and peanut butter in a bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight.

  2. The second day, just layer your cup starting with 2 tbsp cherry jam, overnight oats then 2 tbsp cherry jam. Drizzle some peanut butter on top and enjoy!
