Good day my lovely friends! Today I’m sharing with you the recipe for these healthy Sesame seeds cookies! You know we all buy “kaak” and enjoy it with tea or coffee but they are loaded with sugar so here’s a healthier version! Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee after Eftar or even on Sohour now in Ramadan!
Healthier Sesame Cookies
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated white sugar or dry sweetener of choice
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 regular egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Sesame seeds to coat
First, toast the sesame seeds by putting them on low heat and stir until golden brown. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 180°C.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sweetener, salt, vanilla and sesame seeds.
Add the egg and oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Take about 1 tbsp of dough, place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Flatten a bit then sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Push them a bit so they stick. Repeat until no dough remains.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 mins or until golden brown on top and enjoy!
